About Us
Our Mission

Our Music
Music plays an important part in worship of our Lord. Our congregational style of music is "blended". We enjoy and feel it is important to sing the old hymns; and we also joyfully sing praise and worship songs. Kathy Van Wyngarden is our choir director. Jenny Burns is our praise team worship leader. We currently use the piano and organ. We are praying for more instruments to join in our worship.

Children and Youth
First Baptist Church knows how important it is to "train up a child in the way he should go.."   We have dedicated teachers who truly care for their students. We offer relevant, Bible based classes each Sunday morning for all ages.

Impact Youth
Jason Burns grew up in Monroe and now leads our youth group, grades 7-12. Impact Youth meets each Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m. They study God's Word and have a fellowship time with food and fun activities.

Adult Ministry
Our adults enjoy 5 different Sunday School classes: All the way from young single to senior saints. Each class offers great Bible teaching, friendship and fellowship.

Ladies Ministry
The ladies of First Baptist Church have a weekly Bible Study that meets each Monday at 5:30 p.m. They are active in the IARBC and attend the annual ladies retreat and state fellowship meetings. They also enjoy their Secret Sister program and regular activities throughout the year. They are great servants of the church for dinners and other activities that require food.

Awana
First Baptist Church has offered the Awana Bible Clubs for almost 30 years. Awana stands for "Approved Workmen are Not Ashamed". It is for ages 4 thru 8th grade and meets each Wednesday during the school year, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Each year they minister to about 100 children. Nearly 40 members of First Baptist Church serve in the Awana program. If you would like to know more about the Awana program check out their website at http://www.awana.org, or call First Baptist Church, 641-259-2922.
