The first covenant and business meeting of the First Baptist Church, Monroe, Iowa was held on May 12, 1855. Over these 150+ years the church has remained true to the Word of God, seeking to bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. In the year 1935 the church joined the General Association of Regular Baptist, and in 1968 they built and moved into the current location on south Commerce Street. We thank the Lord for the many years of His wonderful blessings.
